Pre-requisites


Install the following software on server

  • .Net Framework 2.0 (v2.0.50727)
  • RDBMS (MS SQL Server 2000+, Oracle 9i+, Sybase adaptive server enterprise v15.0+ and MySQL5.0 and above are supported)
To use SednaSpace across the enterprise, we suggest Windows 2000/2003 as server OS, as SednaSpace had been successfully tested on Windows 2003 server, Windows XP professional and Windows Vista. Currently, the software supports IE6.0+. The applications generated also support only IE6.0+. Work on FireFox browser compatibility is under progress.
Installation instructions for IIS(Internet Information Server)
 
  • Double click on setup.zip
  • Choose the directory to install and click on unzip button
  • All files are unzipped and placed in the directory selected
  • SednaSpace setup window is shown. Click on exit button to exit the setup
  • Open the installation folder
  • Unzip deploy26feb2010.zip into a directory(for e.g. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\sednavs25)
  • Create a virtual directory(say sednavs25)

  • Read/Write permissions are required for the directory SednaSpace under the virtual directory. (for eg: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\sednavs25\sednaspace)

    For IIS 6.0: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/5f8fe119-4095-4094-bba5-7dec361c7afe.mspx?mfr=true
    This step is mandatory because, SednaSpace creates files under the directory sednaspace.
  • If the setup is completed, go to the URL http://<yourserver>/<Virtual Directory Name>/default.aspx(for eg: http://localhost/sednavs25/default.aspx).
Sedna BPM Installation Instructions
 

You will see the BPMSQL.sql file when you find and open the folder name called SednaSpace on root directory
Run sql file (It will create some of default BPM Service tables in MS SQL Server)
Click on the link below to download the SednaBPMService.zip
Unzip and find the file name called SednaBPMService.exe.config
 Change your connection string (It should be the same where you have extracted the BPMSQL.sql)

Change your project path

Change your BPM query path

You can change Sedna BPM Service running time (per sec)

Register SednaBPMService.exe using InstallUtil.exe (.NET Framework installation utility). eg: In VS2005 command prompt type
c:\program files \Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC> installutil c:\SednaBPM\SednaBPMService.exe
Demo Project Setup
  A demo project is shipped with SednaSpace. The username is demouser and password is demo123.
 
  • Change the database connection string (as mentioned above in connection strings web site).
  • Choose menu option Tools/Save all tables. This creates tables in the database for all pages.
  • Click on Run menu option to execute the project.

    Steps to link SednaSpace SaaS tool with the database.
     
    • Create a new user
    • Login as the new user
    • Create a new project
    • Open the new project
    • A new page popup opens up. Click on close button to close the window
    • Choose menu option Setup/Project setup
    • Select the database,type the connection string and save the settings

      Sample Connection strings:

      For MS SQL Server:

      Data Source=myServerAddress;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;
      User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;

      For Oracle:
      Data Source=ORCL;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;

      For MySQL:
      Data Source=myServerAddress;Database=myDataBase;
      User ID=myUsername;Password=myPassword;Command Logging=false;

      For Sybase:
      Data Source=myASEserver; Port=5000;Database=myDataBase;
      Uid=myUsername; Pwd=myPassword;
